PTAL vs ChatGPT Space and Pages
OpenAI announced ChatGPT Space on 29 September 2026: a shared home where teammates, ChatGPT and its always-on agents work on the same files. Pages, its collaborative documents with comments, follow later in 2026. Here is how that relates to PTAL.
The short version
What Space and Pages are
Space replaces the Library for Pro, Business and Enterprise plans. It holds files, Pages, presentations and spreadsheets, and ChatGPT and your “Dot” agents can read and write in it. It is available now on the desktop app and web; creating and editing on mobile is coming later.
Pages are collaborative documents with text, charts, images and interactive parts. Several people edit at once, each with their own ChatGPT. Collaborators can leave comments and @mention ChatGPT or a Dot to take the next step. A Page can carry standing instructions, such as watching a channel and keeping action items current. OpenAI says Pages arrive in the fourth quarter of 2026. Slides with comments and export follow “in the coming weeks”. Sites, ChatGPT's hosted web apps, can be shared with specific people and given editors.
Everything announced describes collaboration between members of the same workspace, under the workspace administrator's sharing rules. Sharing a Page with someone outside the workspace was not described. We will update this page when Pages ship.

Who is on the other end
In Space, the people who comment are your colleagues on the same ChatGPT plan. On PTAL, the reader can be anyone: a client, a customer, a contributor, a relative. They need no ChatGPT, no Claude, no PTAL account. If you want to know who they are, you can require a sign-in, add a password, or limit the page to your organization.
Which agent made it
Space is for ChatGPT, Codex and Dots. PTAL takes pages from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT and Claude on the web, or any script with an API key, and puts the feedback in one inbox your agent reads with one call.
Co-edited document or reviewed snapshot
A Page is edited live by several people and their ChatGPTs at once. A PTAL page is a snapshot with a version number; readers comment on the exact sentence in the version they saw, and the next version goes to the same link. That is a better fit when you want someone to sign off on a specific thing: a report, a proposal, a design, a questionnaire.
Keeping a page current is not the difference. A Dot with standing instructions can update a Page; any agent can do the same with PTAL, either by waiting on the inbox for the next comment or from a scheduled task that checks for replies, makes the changes and publishes a new version. With PTAL that agent can be Claude, Codex, a cron job with an API key, or anything else, and each update is a version readers can compare and restore.
Forms
PTAL captures ordinary HTML forms, so your agent can ask five questions and get five answers back as data. Pages, as announced, offer comments and edits.
What Space does that PTAL does not
Real-time co-editing, live data inside the document, meeting notes, slides, spreadsheets, and Slack and Teams mentions. PTAL does none of that and is not trying to; it is one page, one link, one inbox.

Which one to use
Use ChatGPT Space when…
- Your whole team is on ChatGPT Business or Enterprise and works inside it all day.
- You want documents several people co-edit live, with live data inside them, plus slides and meeting notes.
- Everyone who needs to comment is a member of the workspace.
Use PTAL when…
- The reader is outside your company or does not have a ChatGPT seat.
- You want a specific version reviewed and signed off, not a document that keeps changing.
- Your pages come from more than one agent and you want one inbox.
- You need answers in a form.
- You want to start free, or pay a flat $10 for the whole organization.
